Short summary about the first Tech Bridge USA-Ukraine
From October 1-6, several meetings and interviews were held in Ukraine with Nelu Mihai as part of the first visit with the Tech Bridge USA-Ukraine project, on the topic of startups, founding the project, and prosperity in a series of meetings supported by the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
The project was held both in Kyiv and Lviv, with the guest speaker taking part in numerous meetings and giving an interview to media.
The program consisted of a meeting on October 2 with students from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) under the title “I am a Computer Science Graduate Student: Quo Vadis? Work for a Startup or a Public Company?”,a fireside chat, which offered attendees a chance to listen to a discussion under the title “Lessons I have learned by founding and funding technology startups in Silicon Valley” (also on October 2), a speech at Lviv Arena (October 4), a speech at the American Chamber of commerce in Ukraine (October 5) under the title “Ukraine: Current Challenges = Catalyst for Technology Innovation”, and a workshop for CTOs of Big Data startups and telecoms under the title “Cloud Computing: an Opportunity for Next Generation of Operating Systems”, as well as numerous face-to-face meetings with representatives of the local ecosystems.
The guest, Nelu Mihai, is a network, software and hardware expert with 25 years of experience and a pioneer of Software Defined Networks (SDN). During his career, Mihai has held general management and executive engineering positions at a significant number of startups and public companies, including SunEdison, Enphase Energy, Packeteer (NASD:PKTR), Cloudshield Technologies (NYSE:SAIC). He is also a founder of MosaixSoft, Inc.
